What is Mystery Missions?
Mystery Missions is an interactive educational software platform that brings learning to life through story-driven adventures, engaging challenges, and clues. It provides tools for approved creators to build their own Mystery Missions using educational content and artwork they own or have permission to use. Teachers activate the missions they purchase, share classroom access with their students, and manage the experience through a teacher dashboard.
The platform and an individual mission are different: Mystery Missions provides the software and hosting, while each mission’s creator is responsible for that mission’s educational content, artwork, listing, and included resources. Creator access is currently by invitation and is subject to separate publishing arrangements.
One teacher. Their classrooms.
Unless a listing or written agreement explicitly grants additional seats, each purchased or authorized free-copy license is for ONE individual teacher and the classroom or classrooms that teacher personally teaches. A teacher may use their licensed mission with their own classes, groups, and teaching periods. More than one classroom does not, by itself, mean misuse.
A school, department, team, or colleague does not receive a license through another teacher’s purchase. Each additional educator must obtain their own authorized license. Signing in with additional email addresses does not create additional licensed seats.
- Keep your purchase PDF, activation code, teacher sign-in codes, and account access private.
- Do not share, post, sell, lend, or redistribute an activation code to other educators, including through shared drives, staff groups, social media, or resource-sharing sites.
- Share classroom codes only with the students or teams you are teaching for that class session. A classroom code is not a license for another educator.
- Use included printable materials only as permitted by the mission’s listing and single-teacher license. Do not upload downloadable files or answer materials to public locations.
Activation and classroom access
Purchase a mission from an authorized seller and use the activation code supplied in the purchase PDF. Verify your teacher email using the emailed sign-in code. The mission is linked to that teacher account; return using the same email address rather than activating it again.
Classroom codes normally remain active for 72 hours from creation. The teacher dashboard shows the specific deadline. After expiry, the licensed teacher can create a new classroom code. This 72-hour window applies to the classroom session, not the teacher’s purchased license. Generating a new classroom code starts a separate class session; it does not transfer an expired session’s progress.
Activation codes, classroom codes, and temporary email verification codes serve different purposes. A replacement or disabled purchase activation code does not, by itself, remove existing authorized teacher access.
Code sharing and account protection
We monitor mission activations and relevant platform usage to identify unusual patterns and protect licensed access. These signals may flag suspected unauthorized distribution, but they are not proof of misuse and do not automatically deactivate an account.
If a review confirms that you have distributed an activation code, shared teacher-account access, or otherwise breached a license, we may restrict access to the affected mission, suspend your account, or deactivate it. We may request proof of purchase or clarification and, where appropriate, provide notice and an opportunity to respond. Urgent security incidents may require a temporary restriction while we investigate.
If you believe access was restricted in error, contact the platform operator using the contact details above. These terms do not introduce automatic account bans or change an existing classroom code’s expiry.
Teacher-supervised student use
Teacher accounts and creator inquiries are intended for adults. Students participate under their teacher’s supervision using a classroom code and a nickname or team name; students do not need email accounts.
Teachers must follow their school’s technology and privacy requirements and obtain any required school authorization and parent or guardian notices or permissions before student use. Do not enter student full names, contact details, sensitive information, or identifying classroom records. Ask students to use non-identifying nicknames. A nickname or technical identifier can still be personal data; see the Privacy Policy.
Do not attempt to access another teacher’s classroom, expose access tokens, disrupt the service, scrape protected mission content, or bypass access controls.
Devices and service availability
Mission gameplay requires an internet-connected computer, laptop, Chromebook, or compatible tablet in landscape, with a sufficiently large browser window. Phones are not supported for gameplay. Use a current browser and test your school’s devices and network before a lesson. Public marketplace information can be viewed on smaller screens.
We work to keep the service available, but internet access, school filtering, third-party services, maintenance, and device limitations can affect availability. An estimated mission duration is a teaching guide, not a guarantee. An optional mission timer is separate from the 72-hour classroom-code window.
Creators, content, and intellectual property
Creators retain ownership of their original educational content and artwork. They must hold the rights needed to publish, display, and commercially distribute everything they upload, including artwork, fonts, audio, and any third-party or AI-assisted materials. Uploading another person’s work without permission is not allowed.
To operate an authorized mission, the creator grants the platform the nonexclusive permissions reasonably necessary to host, store, process, reproduce, and display that content to authorized users. Promotional display is limited to listing content and images approved for public use. This does not transfer ownership of the creator’s work or give them ownership of the platform software, brand, or other creators’ content.
Publishing access, fees, revenue arrangements, content removal, and any use beyond these operating permissions must be addressed in a separate creator agreement. An inquiry does not grant Creator access or promise a commercial partnership.
Purchases, refunds, and your rights
Checkout takes place with the linked seller or marketplace. The seller’s listing and the purchasing platform’s applicable terms govern payment, included deliverables, refunds, and additional license seats. Contact that seller about purchase files or order issues, and the platform operator about software or privacy issues.
The platform does not guarantee specific educational outcomes. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or limits statutory consumer, privacy, or other rights that cannot lawfully be limited. No automatic waiver of parental rights or mandatory arbitration is imposed through a student’s classroom participation.
Changes and contact
We will date revised terms and provide appropriate notice of material changes. A later change does not retroactively erase mandatory rights. Questions about a license or a restriction can be directed to the operator identified above. For practical setup instructions, use Instructions & Troubleshooting.
